SmartDriveAR is an AI driving-assistance app. It analyzes the camera feed in real time to detect lanes, potholes, and vehicles, provides navigation with a crowdsourced hazard map, and can display live vehicle diagnostics from an OBD-II adapter.
Camera frames are analyzed in real time to detect lanes, potholes, and vehicles, then discarded. The app does not record or store video or images.
When you contribute a pothole or hazard detection to PotholePulse, we receive the coordinates of the hazard, a timestamp, and the confidence value produced by the detection model. Reports are stored and displayed to other users as points on a shared map.
A device identifier accompanies your report to our server, where it is used only to de-duplicate reports, aggregate confirmations, and prevent abuse. Published hazard reports never include your device identifier or any other identifier — the public map and public API expose only the hazard's location, severity, confidence, and timestamp.
Any user may flag a hazard as inaccurate; hazards flagged by several distinct devices are removed from the map automatically pending review. You may withdraw your own flag at any time from the hazard's detail view.
If you connect an OBD-II adapter, the app reads live engine parameters and diagnostic trouble codes. This data is processed and displayed on your device only; we do not upload it.
All detection — lanes, potholes, vehicles — runs on your device using Core ML. Camera data never leaves your phone.
When you tap the voice search button, audio from the microphone is converted to text using Apple's speech recognition service; the Apple Privacy Policy applies to that processing. Audio is used only to produce your search query and is not stored by us.
We do not embed third-party crash reporting or analytics SDKs. If you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with de-identified crash reports and usage statistics under Apple's privacy terms.
We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell personal data.

You may withdraw consent at any time by disabling the relevant feature in Settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Our infrastructure providers operate in multiple regions, including the European Union. By using the app, you understand that the limited data described in this policy may be processed in countries other than your own, and that it is protected as this policy describes wherever it is processed.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights regarding your data. We honor reasonable access, correction, and deletion requests from everyone, regardless of location: email support@smartdrivear.com and we will respond within 30 days.
SmartDriveAR is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support@smartdrivear.com and we will delete it.
We use TLS for all network transfers. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the app before they take effect.
